About us
The Association of Voluntary Contribution and Support “Orizont” was founded in 2004 (no. 210/2004 decision of the Court of First Instance of Chania), it is a non-profit association, which operates within the framework of volunteerism, without state subsidy.
Purpose
Supporting children and adults suffering from cancer.
Actions
• Financial, material and moral support for patients suffering from cancer
• Hospitality for patients and their companions in “Orizont” hostels in Athens
• Donation of a cooling system against alopecia for patients undergoing chemotherapy at the General Hospital of Chania “Agios Georgios”
• Registration of potential volunteer bone marrow donors
• Information for those interested in donating umbilical cord stem cells
• Hair donation collection
• Organization of events (cultural, informative, sports) and educational programs
Goals
• Best possible support and relief for more patients
• Creation of a “Hospice” hospice in Chania for terminally ill patients
• Increase in registered prospective volunteer bone marrow donors
